Spanish born Marcos Mateu-Mestre is a visual concept, traditional animation layout, and graphic novel artist whose film credits include titles such as ‘Balto’, ‘The Prince of Egypt’, ‘Asterix and the Vikings’ and ‘Surf’s Up’ amongst others. With an extensive experience of twenty years in feature animation, working mainly for Dreamworks and Sony Pictures, he has also been teaching drawing, illustration and visual storytelling techniques for twelve years. His works as a film maker have mostly included both the design and cinematic aspects of film, taking care of frame composition, lighting and visual continuity of many key sequences in some major productions.

Ich bin begeistert und wirklich überglücklich, dass ich mir dieses Buch zugelegt habe! Genau danach habe ich eine ganze Zeit lang gesucht. Dem Leser wird alles simpel und beispielhaft erklärt:Wie sich verschiedene "Kameraeinstellungen" auf den Betrachter auswirken. Wie sich das setzen eines Fokus Points auswirken kann. Über die Wirkung unterschiedlicher Licht/Schatten Kompositionen.. Winkel.. Positionierung.. Einsatz von Formen.. Größenverhältnisse... gezielte Leserichtung bzw. Lenken des Auges...Alles wird traumhaft leicht erklärt und das Buch vermittelt einwandfrei, mit welchen Mitteln ein bestimmtes Gefühl beim Betrachter erzeugt werden kann bzw. wie ein Sachinhalt/Inhalt am besten dargestellt wird. Die Grundsätze für gekonntes visuelles Storytelling werden hier super dargestellt. Auch sehr gut für Anfänger geeignet, die von solchen Gestaltungsregeln oder cinematischen Techniken noch nie etwas gehört haben.Absolut empfehlenswert!
Ein Inhaltlich starkes buch.Es erklärt vor allem Kompositionen nicht nur theoretisch sondern mit beispielen.Endlich nicht nur gesagt bekommen das hell dunkel das Auge leitet sondern es wirklich sehen.Auch Perspektive inhaltlich und nicht technisch erklärt.Das alles mit eine Vielzahl an unsäglich hilfreichen Bildern an stelle theoretischer texteEines der besten Bücher für jeden der Informationen in einem bild kommunizieren will.Egal ob comic, storyboard film oder Einzelbild.Es bringt euch nicht bei wie ihr zeichnet.Das hier ist kein how to draw. Es zeigt aber auf wie man effektiver seine Bilder konstruiert.kauft es euch. Es ist einfach super!

Aber vorher muss man sich das Wissen ziemlich mühsam erarbeiten. Oder man kauft sich dieses Buch. Und liest es natürlich auch. :)Hierbei handelt es sich nicht um ein klassisches Buch zum Zeichnenlernen. Es geht eher darum, mit bestimmten stilistischen Mitteln bestimmte Emotionen hervorzurufen, bestimmte Handlungen zu verdeutlichen oder einfach um effektvolleres Zeichnen. Das ist mein Schwerpunkt, aber gleiches gilt auch für Regisseure oder Animateure. Wie muss ich z.B. eine Szene zeichnen, damit sie düster und bedrohlich wirkt? Wie kann ich mit Licht und Schatten eine entspannte Atmosphäre schaffen? Wie zeichne ich eine dynamische Szene sehr lebensnah? Das wird alles hier erklärt. Es macht Spaß, es zu lesen.Die Zeichnungen in dem Buch sind ausschließlich in 3 Farben dargestellt (Schwarz, Weiß und Grau), und es sind VIELE Zeichnungen, mit sehr guten Erklärungen und Variationen. Für alle, die in diesem Gebiet besser werden wollen, ist dieses Buch eine ganz klare Kaufempfehlung.
Ich habe "Framed Ink" zum Zeitpunkt des Verfassens dieser Zeilen, zwei Jahre nach Kauf, bereits fünfmal durchgelesen, fast studiert, möchte ich sagen.Jedes Mal gibt es neue Erkenntnisse zu gewinnen, die Filmemachern, Comickünstlern und Storyboard Artists auch praktisch anwenden können. Leider sieht die Realität dann doch oft nüchtern aus, wenn in die Bildgestaltung sichtlich zu wenig Zeit gesteckt wurde. Film kann gut aussehen und trotzdem eine spannende Geschichte erzählen ohne durch die Optik abzulenken.Marcos Mateu unterstreicht dies in den einzelnen Kapiteln, wenn er doch immer wieder verdeutlicht, dass die Bilder die Geschichte erzählen, den Verlauf und die Wirkung einer Szene nur mehr unterstützen.All die Informationen sind dabei großartig präsentiert und durch atemberaubend dynamische Schwarzweiß-Bildern ergänzt. Hier merkt der Leser, war mit Mateu ein Meister des Hell-Dunkel am Werk.Das Papier ist hochwertig und fasst sich gut an.Grafisch und inhaltlich anspruchsvoll stellt "Framed Ink" ein "Must-have" für jeden Filmschaffenden und Zeichner dar.
